Description

I love being in this costume. <3

Unfortunately, the costume is not the most exact. I had to use slightly less baggy, thicker costume pieces than I should have to make sure it could stand up to being thrown into carpets constantly. The costume was primarily made to be usable in the Metrocon Human Chess Match, which meant going for durability, especially since I did a lot of getting beat (all three of my fights =/). I am earringless because earrings and stage combat dont' mix.

I still love the costume, though. The jacket was from a thrift store. I removed the buttons, sewed up the holes, fixed a few torn patches, and added a zipper. I couldn't find a metal, silver zipper, however, so the zipper was of black plastic, colored with a silver sharpie. The pants and shoes are from Wal-Mart. Breaking in those shoes was hell on my feet (they did not appreciate being thrust into men's shoes, for some reason), but once I got used to them, they were awesome. I wear them everywhere now x3 I tried to wear them as often as possible before wearing the costume in order to give them that scruffy look. The goggles were biker goggles colored with... sharpies, again. The lenses were painted black after the sharpie kept wearing thin with how much I sweated practicing. The goggles are pretty dead at this point, so I'm looking to make a more accurate pair.

I am working on making the suit from scratch so that it fits better, and losing weight so that I don't look like a tall chibi Reno. Hopefully, I'll be able to straighten my hair, too. And I'll be getting an earring, too. Basically, I'm looking on continuously improving it. I need to find my own electro-rod (the one used in the pictures belonged to my friend Nick, who played Tseng in the chess match), too.

And hopefully, future pictures will be a flatter chest. I could not bind as tightly as I would have liked during the chess match because being able to breath well is very important to fighting. ^-^
