Way back when I thought I was going to Dragon*Con, I joined a group started on the superhero costume board I frequent, League Of Heroes. The idea was heroes from Marvel's Golden Age. Well-known studies of iconism (Captain America) and ridiculousness (The Whizzer) were snatched up quickly, but thankfully the hero I had my eye was availble: The Angel.

A pulp detective in superhero skin wearing a smart mustaache instead of a mask, the Angel fought villians even more out of place than himself: his arch nemesis was the Armless Tiger Man, who was to supervilliany what Snakes On A Plane will be to cinema.

I tried to shape a pencil-thin mustache, but my facial hair has a great deal of red and blond in it. I didn't look near as dashing as I had hoped.
