This is an Alphonse Elric costume I made for Otakon 2004 to go with a group of friends who also went as Full Metal Alchemist characters. Most important about this costume is that I learned Super77 is not the awesome product it's commercial makes it out to be. ^_~ The framework of the costume was posterboard (for the helmet it was a baseball helmet sans bill), and over that I layered open-cell foam, hot glue, and in places like the chest plate, automotive headliner. Most of this costume was definitely made through trial and error. When one way of construction didn't work or failed, I went back and did it another way. If I were to do this costume over again, I'd definitely make it out of Wonderflex or a similar product instead of foam and (mostly) spray glue.
