The cloak I bought on E-Bay, and the shirt, net shirt, and pants at the mall- that way, I can wear this stuff for every day use if I ever feel like it(not the cloak, lol). I figured, if I made the outfit underneath, it'd look weird and I'd have no other uses for it.
I bought one of those hats in Chinatown, glued white strips all around the inside a few inches in, and then bought beads and a bell and made a bell chain, connecting it via a necklace clasp which I attached to an ornament hook looped through the hat material. I cut black felt, and glued it around the top of the hat, in 2 pieces.
Shoes are my FAV sandals, $70 at JC Penney, and the socks things I got at a dancing store in Caldwell.
I made the headband for the Deidara outfit, and you've probably seen my tutorial. Oh, I made the ring too- made a new one that is much better than the pics here. When I'm done with AnimeNEXT, I'll post some pics.

As of AnimeNEXT 2013, I've unretired this. (Before that I hadn't worn it since 2008, and the description above is from back then.)
A few friends of mine were planning a full Akatsuki group for AN and Otakon. Now I'm friends with everyone in the group, because it was an amazing group of people and some of the most fun I've had at a con in years. They didn't have a Deidara(or Kisame, Zetsu, and Tobi, but I was able to find people after they dragged me into this lol) and they asked and I couldn't say no.
Redid the whole cloak- going to give the old one to our Tobi for next year I think- and redid all the clothing underneath.
Back when I first did the outfit, everyone was assuming that all members wore what Itachi wears, and since then it has obviously come to light that everyone doesn't have the same short-sleeved shirt and stuff. Cut up my netshirt, made a new belt and pouches, new shirt and pants..
Bought a ring too, to be all official.
And made an eyepiece(out of a shoebox crazy as that sounds!), made clay handmouths instead of drawing them on(but word of caution people, spirit gum sucks! Especially on movable parts of your body like hands...it was such a hassle but I kept em on somehow).
And I have a cute bomb plushie. I figured it will last longer than clay and was cute and cuddly.
