This is the main outfit of Kairi in the Kingdom Hearts sequel. Even though I'm not a big fan of pink, I still loved making this one. What intrigued me the most was the three zippers design.
Dress - I used my old Rinoa ballroom dress as a pattern. I was lucky enough to find 2-way zippers at a local Hancock Fabrics. They were all black though, so after cutting the dress and sewing the 3 zippers, I had to go back and paint the middle of the zippers with silver acrylics. I used four eyelets for the dress. I lined the inside of the dress with white material. On my second version, I used a more salmon colored material that matches more of the ingame pictures.
Shirt - The shirt was made using the same white material on the inside of the dress. The material was slightly stretchy. I drew a pattern for the top border and used a small pair of scissors with a precise edge on the end to cut the half circles along the top. I used some fray check along the top after cutting.
Necklace - I bought the pendent from Jo-anns's.
Belt - This was made using PVC leather and I covered it with dark gray material. The same material was used for the hood. For my second version, I placed a strip of posterboard in the inside of each section of the belt for a more firm look.
Bag - This bag was made by hand.
Bracelets - These were leather straps bought from Wal-mart in the trim section and painted with acrylics.
Shoes - I bought old converse shoes on E-bay. I painted them using acrylic paint and gave it a new string.
Total spent - $76.21
