Alright, I have found myself to be a fighting game whore nowadays. I grew up on Street Fighter II for the snes and since then have gobbled up any fighting game that comes my way--sadly enough, I'll probably play a fighting game first before an RPG. With this in mind, it's not hard to understand why several of my costumes are from fighting games--felicia is no exception. I refuse to cosplay as any character I don't already like and since not only was Felicia my favorite Dark Stalkers character, next to Morrigan, but SailorGaia and Frobischer were going to do a tiny group for ACEN, I chose Felicia to accompany them with. Morrigan definately would have been my first choice, but I was so involved in school, a play, and my other tiring -_- costume for ACEN, Felicia seemed the best choice. I did not want to do the typical blue and white version though, so I chose a made-up variant of my own with purple and pink, since purple's my fav. color. Everything was hand sewn and I had to make up my own patterns for it all as well, which was fun, but mind boggling sometimes. I also decided to edge towards Yaya Han's version by having the fur covering the chest be like a complete bra. I got cup inserts from Jo-Ann's along with clear elastic so that it clips in the front. Luckily, it's spaced far apart so that you can hardly ever see the elastic AND it gives off a more true to the character look.Also, it keeps my "in," very well-- I have never fallen out to date! the wig is a Pat bundy wig re-styled with extensions and a butt-load of hairspray by my sis, SailorGaia. My FAVORITE part of this costume are the claws. Since I was strapped for time, I bought white claws online and painted them bright pink and added glitter. yes, glitter. It's my own "personal," touch, as I love all things shiny ^^ Last, I heart my tail. I never saw an accurate tail for felicia so I thought in order to get the bulkiness and shape I would use wire and the foam used to cover pipes--it only cost a dollar XD It gave me the shape and bounciness I wanted ^^ All in all, this costume taught me that a.) spirit gum is my friend, b.) you SHOULD try on a costume BEFORE the con at least once to make sure everything's alright -_- and c.) as much as I adore this costume, it always gives me problems when I wear it.....
