HotLips (Peacekeeper Commando)

Last Updated: 08-12-2003

This all started out with my friend Jason (Kylash327) asking if I could make a Peacekeeper jacket for him by SDCC, and me thinking "waaah, totally no way 0.0" But he really wanted it, so how could I say no? ^^

I started with researching on Karlsweb, then made a practice one out of cheap batiste. In very pretty colors. Light blue and lavender, to be exact. Mwaha ^_^

Then I prayed to the cosplay gods that my sewing maching could handle it and started making the real one out of burgandy/maroonish and black vinyl. It all went pretty well, I made a few mistakes and Jack my seam ripper was used a bit, but all in all there were no major disasters! The most time consuming part was sewing in all the black lines on the burgandyish parts, but I'm glad I took the time cause it looked awesome ^^

And then, wow, I still had a week before SDCC. So, what the frell, I decided to make myself one, too ^_^ And that also, thankfully, came out very well! There were a few parts that made me want to chuck my machine out the window, but all was resolved ^^;;

Unfortunately, we didnt get to wear our full costumes at SDCC, cause A) We were too busy and B) it was sooooo hot 0.0 and we missed seeing a bunch of the Farscape actors who were there. Grawr >_<

However! I begged poor Jason to come to WizardWorld cause I wanted to see him again, and we got to wear all of our awesome Peacekeeper gear there ^___^ We got to see, talk with, and get our picture with Lani Tupu, aka Crais and Pilot from Farscape, had LOTS of people stop us and say how amazingly awesome we looked (happyyyyyy!) and got persuaded into entering the cosplay contest, in which the guy running it put us into expert. Aaag 0.0

The show went amazingly well though! It was very informal, very non-competitive, everyone loved everyone else (cept for those weirdo drunks in the aud) aaaaand.....thats where we won our award ^_^ Second place in the Expert division, bested only by my costume god, Branden and friends ^_^

So yaaaaaay! This is one of my favorite costumes now, besides Deedlit of course. Cause it just looks soooo awesome cool ^__^ and Jason and I totally kicked butt in them. and took tons'a sweet-o pictures. and weirded out the people sitting outside the retaurant. Yaaaaaay ^___^

Second place in the Expert division at Wizard World Chicago 2003!!
