This costume took approximately 130 hours to complete because I wanted to be as accurate as possible, but I'm also a novice, so it probably took twice as long as someone more practiced. I definitely learned A LOT with this one, and I'm really pleased because this is my first true "from the ground up" cosplay as opposed to something altered or from the closet (I didn't have a sewing machine prior to this costume). Only the base arm cuffs, the tanktop under the collar, the chest brooch, and two floral pins on the upper arm are store-bought. The peackock feather sashes at the waist are hand beaded, with each bead individually stitched. The skirt, sashes, collar, and peacock "feathers" are all lined in a champagne gold material for proper hang and comfort. The embossing on the headgear and collar-plate is all freehand. The wings started as 14" party shop wings that now measure at least 3' with individually painted feathers. To see these details more closely, please see my "In progress" gallery.
