Well, me and two friends had originally planned on doing the 'hyper' girls of the Final Fantasy series, Rikku, Yuffie and Selphie. (We were trying to do three girls from a game, but there was always a 'I don't wanna do her!' or a 'That's too hard!' or 'We both want to do her!')

Since Selphie is by far my favorite female character and I've always bugged them about doing a group with me as her, they opted to let me be her! <3

I was originally planning on doing the dress from a spandex blend. However; my smelly Fabricland only had two solid yellows; one broad cloth and one cordoroy. I reluctantly went with broad cloth. :<
I made her back pockets yellow- in some pictures and figures they're lime green, but in others and gameplay they're yellow. Go figure.

Anyways, it was a simple dress to make. Measure out my body, put it onto the material, yadda yadda. I then cut the dress and sewed the lines. (Later I relized I could have just folded the material and sewn it. ]: I'm dumb like that.) I then added the bottom strip of material and zipper, then the straps and overall clasps.

I kept looking EVERYWHERE for a decent picture of Selphie's necklace. Every cosplayer and picture either didn't have it, it was too small to tell, or it was a cross. Eventually, I came apon a peice of official art where, when magnified, you can see the necklace. It's almost like a clover. n__n Then I took scrap peices of metal I had saved for things like this, and welded them together, then spray painted so they were all an even colour! I love it. <3

As for the zipper's tab... thing, (I forget what it's called. o__o), I kinda scored. While going through a dollar store one day, they had children's hairclips that were supposed to be crowns, and looked alot like Selphie's zipper! I got one and spray painted it. ;D

I'm most proud of the boots! (As painful as they are. D:) I don't like the costume much, but I love my boots to death. I found boots, which I then touched up with spraypaint. I then found a belt with lighter shade of brown, and bought new belt buckles for them. I hot glued and duct taped, (They wouldn't stay in place!) the belts onto the boots. The way they fit me, they actually crease in the same manner that Selphie's do! I was so proud. n__n

Oh-- if you noticed I'm missing the blue ribbon around her wrist, you're right. xD I accidentally lost it on the subway ride to the convention. D: My bad! I felt so un-Selphie like. ;3;

The Nunchaku were from a friend's Selphie cosplay she did awhile back. I touched up the black stripes, (they're tape), and spraypainted the chain silver, since she had left it white.

I couldn't style the wig properly, so it looks kinda funky. xD I'm not that hot at styling wigs.

Overall, I'm proud of this cosplay aside from the craptacular dress. I even had a random guy come up to me and stare in amazement. He was all "Wow, you're a PERFECT Selphie. It's so amazing!" I felt really happy after that, since I was having issues over if it was good or not. (whichitisn'tlolz) n__n

EVERYTHING IN THIS COSTUME IS BEING REMADE. : D
