Description

I'd just gotten into the series Ayashi no Ceres when I found out some friends of mine were doing a group at A-kon, so I asked if I could join in with the lovable Alec. It was my second costume and my first experience in using a wig, and I don't think it went too badly (except for my inability at the time to put a wave in his bangs). Luckily there really wasn't much I needed to do to style it!

Being part of a group for the first time cemented my joy in group cosplay - I've done plenty solo, but hanging out with people is the most fun!

Things Ali likes: The maroon shirt and silver hoop earrings I bought for this costume remain some of my favorite articles of clothing. I love the fact that the choker is made with scrap leather and the metal pieces from a floppy diskette. Two whole diskettes gave their lives so I could have a shiny metal choker. Creativity with found objects - one of the most fun parts of cosplay!

Things Ali doesn't like: Inexperience at wig styling made my wig pretty lame.

Favorite moments: people recognizing me in my generic white lab coat XD 'cause I didn't stay with my AnC group at A-kon the entire time, I got up early to go to the dealers room Saturday and got attacked a bunch with no other helping members of the cast. Except one time, because I was tired (and because I had been planning on switching to Watari, who has a very similar costume/hair design, if the rest of the Ayashi no Ceres group flaked out and didn't finish their outfits) someone asked if I was Watari and I answered yes...and then changed my mind XD I'm sure I seemed very silly, as I babbled out some sort of incoherent apology/explanation...
