I'm a cosplay Newbie and for my first try I'm going a bit big, a Full Metal Alchemist Military Uniform. Yeah I know prob overdone, but heck it's my choice right. I've never really tried something so intricate before.
Found a good color fabric and a pattern to alter. I love the way this costume turned out and I'm proud of it. First costume I've made completely from scratch (pants, jacket, buttcape and the likes) the only bought item was the boots, but I'm using those for my alphonse outfit too, so they serve a duel purpose.
Though this outfit looks complicated, it's my favorite. It work well as a hot weather outfit, I think this is due to the fact that the outfit is made of 100% cotton and breaths really well (even though I'm wearing 3 layers). I have a black shirt underneath that you can't see, so I can take the jacket off if need be (which works for when we go and eat at resturants.)
My best complement has been "are you from the military and which branch?". The looks on the faces of those that don't know FMA when I say "state military of course"
None at the moment, but I have gotten alot of pictures taken of me and alot of complements on how detailed my costume is and how nice it looks. Being a newbie and getting photos taken of it are all the awards I need.
