Final Fantasy X

As of Anime North 2005:
I basically had the basics done, and I wasn't sure how much detail I should put into my costumes. So in one of the pictures in my gallery, you can see that I had the basics covered.
The skirt was put together by my grandmother, and I hand-painted the design on the front with fabric paint. That was the easy part :).
The sleeves were horrible XD, as there was too much fabric, and the string was really thick. This caused the sleeves to slip off constantly and look bunched. They were also the wrong shape, and the cranberry juice dye didn't work (again, first costume, I was a n00b XD)
The one MAJOR problem that bothered me the most was the yellow belt. I did like how the hand painted designs came out, I think I did a pretty damn good job =).... however... it was made too big. It was supposed to stretch at the back and fit over my head... but it didn't do that too well, and once it was on, it was too big. Made me look 20 pounds heavier or something. That caused a chain reaction and helped the white top move all over the place. And the emergency safety-pin job didn't help.
Accessories were fun. All beads were made with Sculpey, and painted with acrylic. The long/main earring weighs a TON but still works :) The other earrings were made with random beads that still matched Yuna's. I lacked an actual Yuna necklace. Boo.
As of Anime North 2006:
I ditched the sleeves! :D I hand-sewed some new ones with the remaining fabric left over from the year before. They worked out much better, if you check out some of the 2006 photos of my costume, you'll notice the difference.
I also fixed that faulty belt. I pretty much attached belt pieces to the inside so I can do it up from there, and then I added more yellow fabric overtop that will cover where it does up. The bow went on top of all of that :) I'll upload photos of the belt details once I get around to it. So it worked, it felt like I was wearing a corset, but it was awesome :D It held all the pieces of the costume together ever so nicely.
Never had time to make a staff, but it was worth it :) Had my picture taken only 3 times in 05, lost count in 06! :D
As for Anime North 2007:
To wear or not to wear?... that is the question.
I will most likely wear it for a day, maybe even half. But I'm attacking photoshoots for sure if they exist.
Plus this year I finally have the proper necklace, and I finally have decent materials to finish off that staff that I gave up on! SO yes, Tiikay will be bringing her Yuna costume to AN07... and I will be wearing it for like... a photoshoot and for an hour tops after that.
It will most likely be it's final year at anime north... so into retirement it will go (only to be taken out of it for random events like hallowe'en or something. no more cons.) I will probably move on to another Yuna costume. :3
