I wanted to make a quick, relatively simple and easy to wear costume for Ohayocon.

You can all start laughing now.

This didn't take too terribly long. I think getting an adjustable dressform really helped! Experiences with my movie Sakura outfit taught me that you can't make certain costumes the way they are 'supposed to' if you want them to fit you correctly.

So instead of making a plain kimono and hoping to get the same look by tying a large bow on it, I made the kimono itself very fitted around my waist. All the stitching was covered up by the bow, so viola! The look without the 'accuracy.'

The lining is the part I'm really not happy with. I was hoping to go without, but ended up needing it, so I had to kind of... guess at how much I needed. And I had to sew it into an already nearly completed costume. >.< There's one area in particular that it sticks out strangely from, but no one notices it but me.
