I'm so happy I got this done in time! There's not many Yomi's out there. Those horns (I don't know if you can see it, but there's one in the back too) are made from a dense pink foam that had to be cut with a hot-knife. Then they were coated with wood glue before painting; the paint alone just sorta melts it. The ones in front have magnets in them, and are stuck to metal plates I spiritgummed to my forehead. The other five also have magnets and are held on by a wire frame hidden by my hair, which also keeps the ears on. Twas my dad's idea!
The odd thing I had trouble with was the trianglar...flap in the front. In my referance pics, the sides of the outer haori met just before the belt, but the flap started on his hip. After trying some weird cutting, I smacked myself, lopped it off, and just hot glued it to the belt.
I really want to wear this again, but after the con I got my hair cut "yuna style" so I need a wig.
