Nothing was done to the red pants that I wear with this costume. The red top is actually two red shirts - one intact and one with the top cut off to make a sort of skirt. This skirt was trimmed with Velcro and hangs from the belt which also has Velcro attached. The belt was painted white and had some pieces of hard cardboard (also painted white) attached to it with some glue or string to make the attachments on his belt. The gun holster was white sheet foam attached with string. The gun itself is actually three pieces of wood glued together - one for the handle, one for the barrel, and one for the viewfinder. Of course they were also painted white. The cape was an old black shirt cut to the proper shape with the collar from an old red shirt sewn on. The yellow parts were added with paint. The epaulets were cut from gold-colored cloth and sewn on the shoulders. The boots are not really boots at all - they are a pair of small wading shoes with white socks pulled over them. The mask was made from poster-board and painted grey. The lenses from an old pair of sunglasses were taped where the eyeholes were. The helmet is actually a Darth Vader helmet that had a cardboard ornament glued on and was spray-painted white. Add to that a pair of semi-long white gloves and that's the costume.
