The Legend of Zelda

May I first say, I Love This Costume. It's comfy, and easy to put on, and something resembling flattering! It's my new favorite hall costume, and I've got a couple improvements planned to up the comfort and durability. Yay! XD

This costume was put together in a couple days before ALA 07, since I was seriously lacking in the comfy hall costume department. I've had my eye on Malon for a while now, mostly because I have her hair, and any costume without a wig is a costume I can get behind. ;) The whole thing is a single layer of quilting cotton (though the blouse needs another layer for opacity), with the designs applied in fabric paint. This was my first time playing with freezer paper stencils, and I am in LOVE. (I'll be putting a photo tutorial up in my gallery in the coming weeks.)

I also really love the brooch, which is a Bowser face. XD!! It's made with sculpey (4 parts gold, 3 parts pearl), painted with sculpey gloss glaze, and with two pins glued to the back for stability. The boots were a lucky Goodwill find. They're a size too small, but they didn't kill my feet completely (I was more sore from the 3" heels than the narrowness O.o).

Missing from its debut were elf ears, as there weren't any at the costume store my friend hit, they were gone from the CosWorx store, and I didn't have time to fake some out of craft foam. ;) I also had plans to make some fake bangs that were thicker and more layered than my own, but time ran short.

I <3 this costume sooo much. XD
