With just a few hours' notice, my sister and I decided to make costumes and attend a Harry Potter book 6 release party at the local Borders. My favorite character by far is Sirius Black, and I thought it would be fun to play the haunted, half-starved angsty version from HP book 3.

The entire costuming process took all of two hours. I own a lot of black clothing, so it wasn't hard to come up with an outfit. My brother-in-law ran to Goodwill and bought a black satin bedsheet, and we cut it up to make wizard robes (mine were artfully slashed), and we used long tube socks for the fingerless gloves. I had plenty makeup left over from our Gankutsuou cosplay, so it wasn't hard to make my face skull-like. TONS of fun to slink around looking angsty.

Unfortunately, nobody recognized me! At all! Not a single person knew who I was (although one slightly hazy girl who smelled of marijuana did ask me if I was, "like, supposed to be a character or something"). /sigh/
