Second Try

Back before I knew how foolish an idea it was, I though I'd make a Saygram costume...it seemed easy enough...he's vaugely humanoid, it's all black and white and red, and most of it is covered by a cloak anyway. >.>;

So try number one involved purchasing red pleather, realizing it was COUCH PLEATHER (and thus far too thick to use to make the relatively small splotches he is covered witth). Then making them out of t-shirt matterial, finishing them AT THE CON with the help of everyone in the room (and more than a few who weren't)..and attaching them to the unitard (which was way too shiney) with carpet tape. Very ghetto. Oh, and the mask was fabric on a hockey mask base, so it was so hot that I had to keep it up most of the time.

Second try involved getting a better unitard, making the splotches out of foam and painting them with fabric paint (I love how them look, vaugely like rotting meat, very creepy!) and attaching that with fabri-tac. Also, Asmaria re-made my cape, which I then detroyed and made all raggedily (which I'm sure is not a word). And with TogabitoIon's help, making a light-up with LEDs glowy eye on the new mask.

Unfortunately, day of the con, I discovered that in the Texas heat, my bottle of emergency fabri-tac had burst open, ruining most of the wrapping for the gloves. I still had JUST enough to cover my hands, but not enough for the dangley part of the bandages. So now that has to be re-made before I can wear this again.

I don't really have any good pictures of this, but hopefully try #3 will get some good photos of the entire thing. Photo by Eurobeat King.
