I fell in love with Aerith when I first discovered her in KH, and as time went on I found out about FF VII and only recently have I seen the movie. I fell in love with her costume, and since Im into sewing I thought Id attempt to make her costume for Anime Boston 07. For the jacket I bought this dark pink cordoroy but when I was in my house I found this reddish suede jacket that was perfect(I just had to shorten the sleeves a bit) so I used that for my jacket. and for the dress I bought some light pink fabric. When I got home I made the bow(which is my absolute favorite part of my costume!) and then I saw a problem with the fabric. there wasnt enough and I had bought the entire bolt. But the next day I went to wallmart to buy fake flowers to put in Aeriths basket. I happened to stop in the clearence section and there was a bolt of light pink fabric $1.00 per yard. It was perfect, yet see through so I had to line it. The real pain was the bias tape, the first time I sewed it on, I put it on the wrong way. So, I had to seam rip that and start all over again. For the buttons I didnt make button holes(I loathe them) I just sewed the buttons onto the fabric so it looks button up, but shhhhhh dont tell. and then there wasnt enough bias tape for the bottom, and there was no more of the stuff I had gotten so I bought new tape and redid the whole thing....However I am very pleased with how it came out for my first official cosplay.
