I first wore this cosplay to the Socal Spring Gathering of 2007!
I really like Ino as a character, even though many don't.
I made the shoes by following a tutorial I found online. They came out really good, but seem to fall apart a lot.
The armwarmers were made by putting elastic at the top in the purple bands and then velcroing the bottoms of the purple together where the wrists are. The white part of the gloves grdually get smaller and there is a split at the wrist.
The top was made by taking a t-shirt pattern and editing it by making a mock shirt with muslim. I dismissed the sleeves and then made the collar by using some math. I had to make the neck hole really big. It looks like a giant triangle and fold it down.
I made the pentagon by making a pattern on graph paper. Math re-emerges! I put earrings at the places I thought they'd be, making sure they were evenly placed from each other.
I used a skirt pattern and edited it. I made it gradually get smaller towards the knees. On one side there are locks so the pieces stay on.
I bought earrings and for the headband I bought two of them, because my hips isn't as big as my head! I cut the ends off one and then cut the entire band off up to the headband. Then sewed them together!
For the wraps, I bought long Johns and cut the legs off up to above the knee. Then I took cloth and cut it in strips and sewed them together. I had put them on my thighs and waist. But as soon as I walked around, they fell off my legs (even with tape, velcro, and pins!) and they started falling down my waist! Now I found white Johnson-Johnson bandages, which self-stick and they work great!
I also bought a kunai holster, a pouch, and 2 kunai.
I also painted my nails and toenails a light purple to be like Ino from the manga.
My mom actually did all the sewing. I instructed though and made the patterns. I was like, "sew here and here!"
