The costume is amazing. I found the fanart while browsing through an old contest at the Rikku fanclub at Deviant Art. The theme for the contest was to design a new dressphere for Rikku, and the winner of the contest was this design by astarsia.

It combines 3 dresspheres (Lady Luck, Songstress, and White Mage). I've already made the LL and Songstress dresspheres, so I've already had a natural attraction to their appearances. This one is just amazing. The cuts and designs from the LL and Songstress with the colors and pattern from the WM. Fabuloooooous. I wanted to make it from the moment I first saw it. I really didn't know that I was going to finish it as fast as I did. :)

Umm... Not much to really say about this one. I tried a mess of new things on this (like I do for all of my costumes). This is the first costume I got to use my serger on, so that was mucho exciting. By now (after Caterina), I'm getting pretty tired of appliqués, but I'm still learning more about them. I made the pattern for the top (another scary first for me), sewed sequins (duh) onto the appliqués, dyed those purple feathers, and painted designs on the boots and headband. It was a fun project, and as always I can't wait to learn more!
