The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

Last Updated: 05-05-2010

I've had Ocarina of Time for my old Nintendo 64 since it came out. And now, at last, I have chosen a character from the game to cosplay as! I got my eye on Skull Kid when I saw him dancing on a stump. When Navi said "Is this what happens to kids who get lost in this forest?" it really made me sad... And made me want to cosplay as him (not the only reason though). He's so cute.

After I played Majora's Mask, I noticed that the Skull Kid and I have a lot in common. And we are the same height. XD

I made the artwork version of the costume, but the hat is a mix between that and the in-game look, and the mask is the in-game version.

Here's how I made the mask:
1. shaped it using chicken wire and horns with paper and tape
2. covered with masking tape
3. covered with paper pulp (except the horns)
4. covered with clay
5. paint

The mask took me a month to finish.

Skull Kid was a very fun costume to make. It's my first real costume, so I had my mom to help me a little with sewing. I love how the costume turned out and it's fun to wear!
