I've had this costume planned for a few weeks now, and am now on my way to starting it. The reference pictures are building up, and I've started spending an hour a day on eBay. That's a sure sign a cosplay costume is on the way!
Anyways, I've ordered the crystal so I can start making my pendant, and have my eye on some cotton-lycra and am bidding on some shoes. I have no photos to add as I havent actually started anything yet.
11th May - I ordered the crystal for my pendant, and it came yesterday. I was so happy because I've been sat here doing nothing, waiting for stuff to come through the post. So, I sit down to make the top of the pendant, and discover all my clay has dried out. It was air-drying, and air must have got into the box. So I still continue to have nothing to do. Grrrr!
13th May - My fabric came through the post yesterday. Yay! It's just perfect! I spent a very long time yesterday getting started on it, and I've done rather alot on it now. I'll probably post some in progress pictures too some time. I've also pretty much finished my pendant, I've just got to spray the top silver.
15th May - Exams all over now! Yay! That means lots of costume making time. I've put the eyelets in now and added the string for the corset type thing she has going on there. It's amazing how well this costume is going. I'm really pleased with it.
25th May - Been making some good progress with this costume, although I'm beginning to lose interest in it now. I always do with every costume I make. I've take in the waist now, so that I don't look so fat and shapeless, and I've begun putting on the leg buckles. Now I'm all out of orange thread and can't do much more until I get some. Photos coming soon, I promise!
1st June - I've decided to take a bit of a break from this costume because it's doing my head in. It's almost like I'm going backwards with it. The eyelets are seriously getting on my nerves. I can't line them up straight or get them evenly spaced. On the plus side though, I've sorted all the white bits. On the down side again though, I washed the costume the other day, and I stupidly used ink to measure out the inside of my leg buckle, and it's bled out onto the costume leg, and it doesnt wash off. Luckily enough it hasnt spread very far, so I've taken off the strap and I'm going to sew it back on again slightly bigger, just to cover up the ink on my leg. I've made Dagger's blue hair clip as well now. It's the cutest little hair clip in the world! I've decided I'm going to make a rod to hold with my costume. When I'm wearing it I just really feel like I need a prop. Unfortunately, it doesnt look like reference pictures of any of Dagger's weapons exist, so I'll probably end up replaying the game and getting them myself, or just making something up. I'm looking at my costume now, and it's honestly the most horrible costume when it's on the hanger. It's so lifeless and it's a ghastly colour. It doesn't look half bad when I'm actually wearing it though. Photos could still be a while in coming yet. I know there are at least three of you out there (you know who you are!) who are dying for photos of this costume, but you're just gonna have to wait a bit, okay?
