I needed a last minute costume for A-kon, but didn't have any time to do anything elaborate. I had 5 1/2 yards of red cotton in my fabric stash, which was perfect for Kikyo's hakama. The hakama were made in only a few hours (they were allot easier than I expected!) The kimono is made of white poly crepe, from modified instructions for a heian kosode.
