Riku's totally cool and all, but everyone knows he's just a Sora prop. XD So, I suppose my highlight was being the official handler of Saeru's massively awesome Anti-Sora.
As for the construction: this was just painful all around...probably the least impressive ensemble I've ever made, and the absolutly most difficult. Massive Sewing by Fire on this, and I would have given up without Saeru's assistance. The first time I ever made all patterns from scratch, pressed every seam, serged every edge, properly lined, interfaced at all, and followed the original concept design faithfully. Riku does not have side or back seams on his jacket (altho he has a lot of other complicated decorative ones, that are barely perceivable) - which meant the jacket had to be patterned *exactly* beforehand since there would be no going back to edit sizing after.
The shoes are severely modified overpriced Lugz, the wig is hand-colored in over 8 subtle colors and cut/straightened/spiked, and all the clothing is completely hand-made, right down to the giant zipper which had to be custom-molded.
I didn't get to paint on this at all, unlike every other single costume I've made, so this is also the most boring project I ever attempted. ;P
...But even though it took me -way- too long, I do now finally have a completed keyblade as well. Even though Riku's single option for keyblades looks -nothing- at all like a key. XD
