Making Team Magma took longer than I thought it would. I made both the male and female grunt versions. I think I'll explain the female version first: The mini skirt, I dug out of my closet I had bought it from Hot Topic about 5 years back. Then I Bought extra red material from our local fabric store and made the leg warmers. I bought this kind of see-through black lace stuff, and I sewed it around the leg warmers. Three stripes on each leg warmer. Then for the shirt that went under the cape, I bought a cheap black short sleeve shirt from JC Pennies on discount for three dollars. For the male version, the legs warmers were the same, and for his shirt under the cape, he just wore a plain black males t-shirt [that said Otaku in yellow] but it didn't show. For the males pants, I went to our local thrift store and bought a pair of womans pant/slacks and I cut them off right below the knee. They worked perfectly!! [only 87 cents] Okay, now for the rest of the outfit, both the male and female are the same. I went to JC Pennies and bought two plain red hoodies [again, on sale]. I first of all, cut off the sleeves around the middle of the bicep area [Make sure to MEASURE yourself, because for me, I'm 5 feet, and my male was 6' 2"] Measuring DOES make a BIG difference. Trust me. Then for the "ears" on the hood, I cut up a black t-shirt that I didn't like and made the cone shape an sewed them together. Then I bought "fluff" [the stuff in stuffed animals] and stuffed the ears, then I made two slits on the hoods [make sure they're even] and I pulled the ends of the "ears" through, and I sewed them into place with a sewing machine. Then they were still a little floppy, so I hand stitched then on the loose sides and they were all better. For the giant "M" on the capes, I went online to wikipedia and printed off a giant picture of the "M" Then, I pinned it in place on two notebook sized sheets of felt [only like 97 cents] and cut them out. Then I sewed them in place with a sewing machine. Also, I cut off roughly half of the sweater to make it shorter [again, MAKE SURE TO MEASURE INDIVIDUALS!] Then I opened the areas under the armpit so it was open like a real cape [not half a sweater] Then for the arm warmers, I took the parts of the sweater arms that I cut off, and I cut off the access material and sewed some of it under for a seam so it reached the end of our hands [not fingers] Then we wore them with the "wrist band" part below our elbows so the elastic would hold them up [so easy!] Then we found some thin gloves from winter [black] and then we both wore black shoes and we were good to go!
