For the 5th movie and the 7th book release, my sister and I decided to dress up as hogwarts students for the midnight showing and the party in Hudson.

I completed my robes a few days before the movie premiere, but couldn't finish my sister's until the day before the book release. We wore our uniforms without the robes to the movie, and then the robes to the book release.

We bought socks from Sock Dreams, and we bought our shoes from Walmart and proceeded to draw on the sides: The simplified Hogwarts crest, the D.A. symbol, Weasley is our King symbol, and the R.A.B. quote with the book release date.

Our ties are from Alivan's and Wizardties.com, and the skirts are from an online store (Dickies, I think...). I already had the white shirt, and Laura got hers at the mall.

For the robes, I used Simplicity 5840, and altered it according to a tutorial online (and modified from there). This was really tricky for me, and I went through about 5 needles over the whole of the two robes.

Overall, I am really proud of what I accomplished and I was getting many comments at Hudson (including many pictures (asked for, or sneaked) and getting on the news). I was worried I wouldn't finish these, but I'm happy because it's the first sewing project I've ever completed on my own, and I can't wait to learn more as I go on to new ventures.
