Princess Peach

Last Updated: 07-16-2009

This is my first “cosplay” costume although I love fancy dress and have many outfits for dressing up at parties or theme nights : )

This dress a little different than other princess peach costumes I’ve seen, i have put it together myself and although its not 100% accurate its my own take on the dress. I’m a little worried about that :-/

I am a fan of historical fashion and love the full skirts of the 50's, hence the style in this costume. This dress is shorter than the “official” Peach dress and with a lower neckline.

It is made from cotton with satin ribbons for trim / detail. I didn’t make the whole thing from scratch its been modified to fit my criteria, including the puff sleeves, the ribbons and details. The rouching on the sleeves was really tricky! I made the petticoat myself - it is a very basic design :)

I am also making the accessories myself. So far I have the gems for the crown and the design but not the copper sheeting to make it from. I may even resort to gold or copper card >_< im a bit worried about looking like a 7 year old !

As well as finishing the crown and styling the wig I also still need to find some shoes (maybe pink ballet pumps?) and make the bustle, although the bustle is a last minute addition and I may miss it off all together as time is running out!

none yet! The cardboard crown looked fabulousv as did my gloves and stockings but the wig made my palour look green as I have dark hair and olive skin! Also the petticoat was far from full enough, it looked limp and a bit sad! The sleeves were a bit tight and also the dress needed and inch out at the bust and off the waist but over all I was very comfortable and happy with my first proper cosplay : )
