Alright, we'll I guess this is the first time I've had one of these then! Hooray for trying new things.
I'm generally rather computer retarded (I haven't had one for very long), but if there's one thing I've gotten good at in my year on the internet so far, that's typing long winded paragraphs trying to get across my meaning and stuff like that, so this is probably going to be right up my alley. You might never get me to shut up.
Today was a good San Japan preparation day. I started preparing for this con, oh say... 5 months ago. Right after Ikkicon ended, I was already in San Japan mode. You see, last year at San Japan, I had the time of my life. It was amazing. At Ikkicon, for the second year in a row I had a slightly underwhelming time... *sigh* But I digress, back to my preparation. It's t- minus 2 months and five days until I'm back at my favorite con, and today I made over a hundred arrows for various Trinity Blood cosplays in order to get ready.
That's right. Over 100. I was able to attach these arrows to my Abel Nightroad costume, which is now so close to being finished it's not even funny. There's just this one piece of bling, and then its done.
I wish I could say the same for the rest of our Trinity Blood group.
Now, our Ion's costume has been done for ages. She even has earrings and a turban. But the nuns... *shakes head* Oh Lord, what a headache. Excuse me while I go find somewhere to hit my head against a wall. The petticoats, the bias tape, the lace, the poofy sleeves, the habits, the wimples, the... EVERYTHING! @.@ And I have to make TWO of these freakin' things. Now, I've got all the preliminary sewing complete, but I sure am glad I have 2 months to do all the details and such. Plus, one of the dresses is for a crossplayer, and here's something I've learned:
Making dresses for men is WAAAAY different than making them for girls. His shoulders are sooooo broad compared to mine, and I didn't think to take that as one of his measurements the first time I made the bodice to his dress. Coincidentally, the rest of his measurements are exactly the same as mine. Except for his waist. Which is smaller. o_O
Our group has started getting together in order to do skit rehearsals for the San Japan masquerade (which we're hoping to be in). I'm actually rather excited about our skit. It's about Abel being deprived of food, a recurring theme in Trinity Blood, so all is well. It's going to be my first skit. I can't wait!
So, uh yeah. Cupcake Crusaders forever!
