Picolitrossos Urn

Gaia Online/Original

The Winter Wolf says:

So. Where are we now? It's....late July. Pretty much a month until FaneXpo. Bank account is sobbing in a corner from the recent trip down to the States for two weeks, which cleaned me out more than it should. (But Ooh! The Sales!), but it should recover by the con, so long as I don't spend like a fiend for the next month or so. It's okay, we're managing.

Creating a new costume for FanX is NOT going to happen. Even my winter wolf brain is smart enough to realize it isn't going to happen, and it hibernating fitfully in the back of my grey matter. However! I feel a redesign of Pico is inorder, and something I can logically do by the end of August. As I mentioned in my last entry, I wasn't......100% with my costume. The skirt = no qualms with it. I love it, it turned out great, so there is nothing I need to change with that. It was the rest of it, that just wasn't...right. Lumpy, I think was the phrase I used for it. And it didn't have the presence I wanted it too. Likely, I should admit, because its not really from anything, so showing it off at an anime con might not give it the full effect, that FanX might, but still I needed more punch.

So, the redesigning begins. Fortunately, I have a secret weapon that might give me that boost to make it have that wow factor I desire: A venetian mask in the red, gold and black colours of my skirt, I recently bought in New Orleans on my trip. I feel that fusing the harelequin diamonds of the skirt with the swirls of the mask, with the rest of the outfit, might really bring it up to snuff. In theory of course.

I think I am going to eliminate the white from the outfit. It really didn't add to it, as much as it could of, especially since I had to do away with the "underskirt" cutting through the mainskirt, after that disasterous attempt, so the only white in the outfit was the shirt. Ideally, I'd like to use the cincher still, since, well I bought the blasted thing. Even though, I think the main lumpy feeling was from that. Maybe elimating some of the layers under it might loosen it up a bit. The bunching of the skirt waist band IS a bit of a problem, but I don't think chopping at the skirt is going to help me at all.

The more I think of it, the more I want to change the "legs" part of the outfit. Last time, I wore black tights, which worked well, since I had the red shoes, so it matched. But....partially to remove some of that waist band, and partially because I want a different effect, I kind of want to have one leg red and the other black, using thigh highs. (Or knee highs) The skirt isn't....short, persay, but long enough that it might cover both types of socks. of course, I could always do a little detailing on the tops of the socks, as if to say "OHOHO I planned you seeing my knees, you cheeky people!" Or something like that. Matching that up with one red and one black glove, (or the same sort of covering of an arm) but inverted with respect to the legs, might really add some wow to it. With gold trimming thrown everywhere. I think this costume is gettting gaudier, and I'm not sure if that's a good thing.

Eh. Whatever. I think about it more at work today, which I really need to be getting ready for. Why couldn't halloween be closer to the con, so costume stuff would be in the stores for cheap? Note: plan for next year so you can get post-hallow sales.....

The Winter wolf signs off.
