Street Fighter
Yay! First Journal entry! Well, let's see... I guess some people have seen me in here and on the forums as Yanyu, Juni, Decapre, and Cammy Dark so I wanted to go a little more into depth on the reason why I cosplay them.
A little bit of history about the cosplay group:
I became part of a group back in late 2005 (as the character "Yanyu") that eventually dropped into my lap by late December of 2006. We focus on the Shadowloo Doll Agents who serve under M. Bison (Lord Vega in Japan) during Street Fighter Alpha 3 and debuted as a group at Anime Expo 2007 (we did make a brief appearance at AX 2006, but it wasn't our official debut). This is a cosplay group I've been very dedicated to, hoping to expand on more, and have even created a few spin offs/sister cosplay groups related to it (Delta Red Cosplay focusing on Cammy and Delta Red; Minions Division -the other guys in Shadowloo-; and Project Cammy Light Cammy Dark -Project CLCD- which focuses on a fictional relationship between Killer Bee Cammy, Cammy Dark, Decapre, and the other doll agents outside of the traditional Shadowloo group). This group is constantly evolving and growing with new experiences and variations to the characters.
Since taking over this group, I've had a lot of fun experiences and gotten to meet new people. I've even learned a lot of new techniques that have helped me with my cosplay (especially when it came to working with knit and stretchy materials, sculpting, and working with new materials/mediums to which I'd like to thank my husband for his help and support -especially with this group-). I'm hoping to start setting up some more shoots for Doll Agent or Project CLCD/Delta Red Cosplay/ Shadowloo Minions cosplayers in SoCal (since that is where I am currently based) for anyone who is interested. I'm also willing to help with getting together the costumes for those who are interested in participating in the shoots and gatherings. People are more than welcome to join the group as well.
Most people (that I've talked to outside of my friends) don't even know the main playable characters of Juni and Juli due to not being exposed to Street Fighter Alpha 3, but through this group, a few people have taken a little more interest.
Other things on our site:
I do some sprite customs based on Capcom characters just for fun and (of course) post a lot of our cosplay pictures (though currently it has just been illiara and myself as the most active).
