I remember my first cosplay, and that was Sasuke for MTAC a few years ago. I absolutely LOATHED it. So much, that I dont even want to go into details about it.... T_T
Well, to my horrified surprise, I decided to give Sasuke another shot, but I didnt expect that I would go into more detail and do the curse mark.
I have seen about 2 others in my cosplay experience do curse mark Sasuke. Usually it was permanent marker or simple paint that was used for the markings.
First, I can not afford to ruin myself and other cosplays with permanent marker....I still have other characters that I do throughout the weekend, and they certainly dont have anything on THEIR faces...
Second, I didnt want anything that peeled or smeared. It was sooo unprofessional and pictures look horrible if you have paint or magic marker running down your face because of sweat.... >_<
So I found the perfect stuff. I dont remember what its called, so too bad. :P You'll live. And if I told you my secret, then I'd have to kill yeh! ^_~
The best thing about this stuff is, that it doesnt run or smear or rub off on clothes! Even though the paint is not washable out of clothing.
But it wasnt easy to do. My makeup artist kept getting frustrated because whenever she messed up, she had to cover it up because we couldnt rub it off. lol She didnt mess up often though, and she did an amazing job!
It went on in layers. First the practice on paper so that we know what we are doing, then the outline of the face, the torso, the back, the arms, the hands, the thighs, the calves, the feet, and the toes. We decided to not do my side since it was going to be covered completely by the fabric of the costume.
After the outline, we had to fill everything in, and that was done in layers too. She had to fill it once, then again, and then again to make sure it was dark enough.
Then, there was the touch ups to cover whatever lines were out of place. That was done with great care. ^_^
She also made sure that we got it down to every last detail. Even the actual tomoe mark had to be made and going in the right direction.
Surprisingly, the makeup only took about 2 1/2 hours. Sadly, I took it off in 2 so that I could change cosplay! But isnt that the fun of it!?
Taking it off though...was a pain...literally... It took me FOREVER to get all the makeup off! I couldnt even get the shower to work! So, we scrubbed my face, neck, back, arms, legs, and fingers as much as possible. We got it off my face and hands and just around the neck enough where it wouldnt show through my L cosplay. My face was really red, but the mask hid it. ^_^ The rest of it did come off though, but it took scrubbing through the next couple days.
Hey, at least I got my money's worth! lol And my friend is so proud of that makeup! She did a super, fantastic job! *applause*
The contacts are white for several reasons:
1). Red was out of stock and they sent us white without telling
2). It is so completely original and how many curse mark Sasukes are there with white sharingan?
3). They stood out amazingly well, and attracted more attention
4). Well. Unless I wanted blue eyes, I had no choice.
If you like, I would appreciate for anyone to leave feedback on my eyes in some of my CMS photos. It does not matter which. But it would be greatly appreciated!
I did Sasuke again on Sunday, but no mark because it took too long, and we could only stay until noon. And no contacts since my nails were long and I ripped them getting them out on Friday night. *wail* But it didnt turn out too bad. I didnt take many pictures though, but I will have them up soon, so be on the lookout!
You can also expect more Sasuke cosplay in the future! I think I may give Shippuden a shot.... Curse Mark will definately be back.
Peace!

and will be easier to change in and out of costumes. I have decided though, that if I do Sephiroth, I will most definately either wear it all day or only once since binding is a pain. (literally...)
