So what's going on with Kitty?

The Tenth Doctor
Doctor Who
Haha, I need to update this more often, but college certainly makes that difficult.
Last night I pre registered for Ikkicon! The best part? It's literally ten minutes from where I live! And I'll be home on Christmas break, meaning I'll actually be staying where I live, so I won't have to worry about a hotel room!

I seriously CANNOT WAIT for this con. And I'm not even sure why. Last year it sorta sucked the big one for me, with all the stupid drama and stuff. But while it's no San Japan, it seems to have its act together a bit more this year (even though they're still kinda slow considering it's less than two months away and there is hardly any info posted on the site). And this year I'M ACTUALLY GOING WITH PEOPLE I LIKE.
Robyn will be there of course. I could never go to a con without Robyn, it'd be to weird. She's the Elena to my Reno, the Rose to my Doctor... I could never leave home without her. XD

But literally, that's what she is.
We've picked our theme for all three days now, Friday being our Final Fantasy VII day, Saturday being Doctor Who and Sunday being random comfy ass costumes.
Here, a list for you:

FRIDAY:
Me- Reno
Robyn- Elena
Bernie- Cid Highwind

SATURDAY:
Me- Tenth Doctor
Robyn- Rose Tyler
Bernie- Donna Noble

SUNDAY:
Me- Edward Wong Hau Pepelu Tivrusky IV
Robyn- Gaara
Bernie- Kankuro or Saya. Depends.

I really can't wait! I'm especially excited for our Doctor Who group. Doctor Who is my single most favorite TV show in existence, and my Tenth Doctor costume came out really well. Him and the Fourth Doctor are definitely my favorites, and seeing as I don't think I could possibly pull off this look ( http://www.who-philes.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/bakert.jpg ), the Tenth was definitely a good choice. Plus, I rediscovered the talent I have for manipulating my eyebrows. Weird no? XD
My only regret is the definite greyness of my eyes. David Tennant's eyes are brown. Usually I don't bother myself with such small details, but looking at the few pictures of me in the costume I have, it's really kind of jarring to look at. Oh brother, I've finally lost it...
(Luckily from far enough away they just look black/colorless)

Also, another reason why I'm so excited for Ikkicon:
Besides me, Robyn and Bernie, I know about six or seven of my friends that are going, and some of them are even cosplaying! I have one friend going as the RED Scout from Team Fortress 2, a couple friends in a steam punk, and this one friend of Bernie's from England who I've been dying to meet for ages (we talk on Facebook, but have never met face to face).
Anyways, I'm rambling and there's dinner to be made, and studying to be done. Ta ta for now!

-Yazzy, Kitty, Kaz, whatever the hell you want to call me.

Zack Fair. My soon to be newest costume.

Zack Fair
Final Fantasy VII
I need to start cosplaying from a different FF series, I know, but I just love Zack so much! Plus my other favorite FF characters that aren't in VII are Blank from IX who hardly wears any clothes, Balthier from XII who might just make my eyes bleed if I even tried, ViVi, also from IX who would be hard for obvious reasons (no face...) and Laguna (AKA Squall's dad) who my friends would laugh at me for.
So I'm getting together a plan of action so I can start work on this right after I get back from San Japan. I know I'm going to raid the local thrift stores, and then ebay, looking for a black ribbed turtleneck sweater and baggy black pants. The pants I can make if I can't find them (I'm just sorta lazy), but I am not knitting that sweater. That is just something I won't do. XD
The pauldrons I am definitely making out of wonderflex. It just seems like the easiest route. The suspenders however are what I am not sure about. I guess I could use a combination of old belts and the pleather I have left over from Yazoo, I'm just not too sure about it. I really want this costume be to be good.
The boots I already have. Good ol' eighties Reboks. I love them things. XD Gloves too. My old driving gloves from New Jersey. I would wear them when I had to drive in the cold...
I also have about a gajillion belts.
The wig I already made. I have a feeling this costume is going to rock. Hopefully... XD

Ah, the wonderful feeling of Pre- Registration...

I finally Pre-Regged for San Japan. Then I danced around my room. Very VERY happy. Of course, I should have done this much much earlier, but I have very little money... ^^;
However, I have run into a slight snag. My hotel roomie is having second thoughts about the hotel room. She's starting to say we should only go for Saturday. And because I do not own a car and she is my ride, I can't exactly argue with her.
This makes me sad. It means that I might not be able to bring my Ed or my Train costume with me. I mean I could, but without a hotel room and without Sunday or Friday, it would be very hard to change into them or find time to wear all three of them.
If I was just switching between Edward and Train it would be plausible. I could easily fit either of those costumes into a small backpack.
Abel is a different story. The costume is bulky, delicate and the wig would not be very happy if I put it in a bag. Not to mention the fact that I *need* to wear that costume, due to the Trinity Blood group I've spent so much time getting together and sewing for, our masquerade skit we've now spent at least six hours rehearsing and the meet-up I've organized myself.
I would just find other roommates (I'd even be willing to help them pay!), but my mother forbids me staying with "strangers" and I don't personally know anyone else staying the weekend.
T-T
You'd think at my age my mother wouldn't have this sort of influence over me...
I guess I'll just have to get on my knees and beg Robyn to reconsider.

Note to Self: Never dye your hair blue again.

Abel Nightroad
Trinity Blood
So I woke up this morning, stumbled into the bathroom to wash my face, and as I looked up I noticed something. My hair, which I dyed blue and then it magically turned green, was in a gigantic poof because I slept on it wet.
And I looked like Spike Spiegel.

Anways, on to the actual cosplay stuff. Today I had Isaac, my dear and lovely Esther (yeah, that's slightly confusing if you've read the series, as there is a character named Isaak) over and we tried on our respective costumes and took some pictures on my porch. (Cuz my porch is awesome and you totally can't tell you're in the middle of Austin when you take pictures on it. Because of the trees and stuff.)
Conclusion?
Isaac is going to FUN to bring to San Japan.
I am going to die of heat stroke at San Japan.
I'm effing short.
That's THREE conclusions for ya, heck yeah!

So all in all I've had a good day. I got to wear and nearly die from the heat in my Abel costume and I realized I look a bit too much like one of my anime idols. We also got shoes for Isaac's Esther costume and Robyn's Kate costume. SWEET.
I feel so productive... XD

But I'm exhausted. The heat literally sapped away all my energy.
Rawr. Ciya later!

So now I'm dreaming about cosplay. Great...

Strangest dream I've had in my life, bar none.

I dreamt that I was in the community center of my old town in New Jersey for some sort of banquet, and I had a plate of lasagna. While looking around for a seat, I spotted Jet Black (yes, the Cowboy Bebop character) sitting at a table and decided to sit with him. After talking to him for upwards of ten minutes, my mind decided to go ahead and break the fourth wall, and I began to question why in heck I was eating lasagna with Jet Black. The seemingly logical answer my mind provided? "This must be an anime convention." No sooner had I thought this than I looked down and realized I was in my Ed costume. I began to look around and realized that everyone else was dressed up as well. Then I looked to my left and Ted Nugent, as he looked about circa 1978, was stealing lasagna off my plate. I asked him what he was doing and he shrugged and told me Jet told him to. Then I woke up.

I told you, weirdest dream ever.

However, moving on. Yesterday I turned 20. D: Ack! I'm not a teenager anymore! What is this? However, I got a $40 gift card to Hobby Lobby, which I am going to spend on fabric to make my friend Janice a Sephiroth costume as well as put the finishing touches on the Kate and Esther dresses. I'll see if I can find some crosses and beads to use for their rosary's too (last time I was there I saw the perfect crosses. XD). Going there tomorrow, it's gonna be fun!
