Well, since it's finally summertime and I am bored out of my mind, I think I should start planning ahead. Right after Anime Boston this year I started to think about everything I would accomplish over the summer, since I would have so much free time. But of course, that plan backfired after I was asked to go to both Otakon and Connecticon. The cons are only two weeks apart from each other, so it's going to be a squeeze. But either way, I still need to make stuff this summer. I HATE being unoccupied. So here is my list of things to come this year.
- Halibel
- Advent Children Tifa
- Yoko Ritona
- KH Aerith
- May
- Sheva Alomar
- Crimson Viper
- Kairi
- Advent Children Yuffie
- Rukia
- Aqua
- Seras Victoria (anime version)
- Laguna Loire
- Paine
I'm not going to type the entire list I have, last time I counted there were over one hundred thing ^^; Halibel and Yoko are probably going to be for Anime Boston next year, that's like 8 months from not but I'd like to get a head start. Well, at least I can't say I wont be busy :P Now I just need to prepare from Otakon, time to pack up the 'ol wings again. Anywho, wish me luck!

Well, recently my level of stress has shot through the roof. Anime Boston is only 2 weeks away, and I have so much stuff to finish it's absolutely ridiculous. RIDICULOUS! This is the last time I agree to make costumes for my laid back lax friends who cant do a damn thing to save their lives. From this point onward, I refuse to chase them down and remind then that they need to be fitted!
*ahem* The main point of my stress is from the though of me messing up a costume I plan to enter in the Hall Cosplay contest, solely from me dying it. I already messed up once, It was completely done and dyed perfectly... but I sewed it inside out -_- FML Luckily I'm a crafty person and redid it in only 12 hours. It came out better than last time, but... it needs to be dyed to absolute perfection. I will seriously kill if I mess this all up because of some bad dye job.
In case anyone was wondering, I'm talking about my Dead Fantasy Rinoa cosplay that I've been planning for quite some time. I have the huge ass wigs done, and everything else of importance is still in the making. Uhg, why are things always so difficult?!
I hope for the best, but sadly think of the worst :/

Well, I think it's almost time for me to start styling wigs. I have about 42 days before Anime Boston, and 13 different costumes to make for myself and other. Stressed is an understatement. But I believe I can do it, strike that, I know I can. The first major thing that must be done, is that tricky tricky wig. Damn you odd anime hairstlyes!
It's for Seras Victoria, I bought a nice punky style blonde wig just for it. It looks great, is really soft, and doesn't look like it will be hard to style... but looks can always be deceiving. I've only stlyed one wig so far, yeah it was really difficult, but that's still only one *cough* Aerith *cough*
Hmm, maybe I'm just freaking out over nothing. It should be fine... I think. Wish me luck!

Well, once again I find myself unable to come to a clear decision. Nothing new there -_- But this time I'm confused on what color to dye the fabric of a costume. I've made it before, but to be honest I hate the color cause it isn't perfect in my mind. Yeah, nothing is truly perfect, but it still isn't good enough!
Let me elaborate... I am remaking Rinoa's duster from FFVIII for Anime Boston in May. I am entered in the Hall Cosplay contest and want it to look beyond amazing. Of course, I have hit a snag. What freakin color should I dye the fabric??!! The color is so debatable it's ridiculous. It changes with every scene. In the opening FMV it has a turquoisy tone. Then the in-game color is a darker sky blue. Then in the FMV's it's light blue or mid sky blue. Now.... I'm thinking of going with her In-game battle color since I could also use it for my Dead Fantasy cosplay. But at the same time I don't know if I'd be satisfied with that. I know how to do everything, just cant decide on the color.
It seems that the entire planning process is taking longer than it should. Just yesterday I couldn't decide what wigs to get. Grr, hopefully once I start working on these costumes I'll be too occupied to overthink things.
I still haven't decided on the color... What do other people see it as being? Am I the only one who looks at it this way, cause I feel like I am. *sigh* Maybe I should take a poll =/
Well, this marks the end of this rant. Expect more in the coming months before Anime Boston. Up next is probably a prop rant. The Harkonnen Cannon and retractable wings are going to be a pain in my ass...

Rinoa Heartilly Final Fantasy VIII
Well, crazy old me decided to celebrate yet another FF characters' birthday. It's really nothing new, I just feel like they need to get the attention deserved just as actual people do. Crazy huh? Eh, maybe just a little.
Seeing as how I didn't have something prepared for such a day (unlike for Squall's b-day when I had two cakes, party stuff, presents, cards and a guest list) I just decided to cosplay her. She will always be one of my favorite female cosplays, so it wasn't a hard task to put on the ol' duster and wig to have a little FF Nerdfest. Although I admit, it is very high up on my list to remake her whole outfit... but i'll go over that in a different journal while I rush to complete it.
Anyway, i'm off to make a cake, er... cake pastry fudge thing. The mis has been sitting in my pantry for over a year and I guess I have to use it at some point in time. The next FF B-day on my list is Zell, the 17th. So I should probably get massive amounts of hotdogs for that lol
I believe this little ramble is coming to an end, as well as my favorite FF girls birthday *sigh* Until next year Rin!
