Ok! The date is Friday, June 19th 2009, and I have decided to keep a journal of the progress regarding the construction of my plasma related weaponry that I plan on having up and functional by Fan Expo (I will have my revenge).
I just finished getting most of the parts and tools together. So far I have blown out my only photon emitter (it was cheap anyway) by pumping exactly three times the recommended power into it. I was curious ok? And while trying to re-wire my only plasma disk I think I shorted it out or something because now it won’t turn on. I am however not discouraged! This is all part of what I believe to be an artistic process.
The logistics for the pistol needs work. It’s kind of a small chassis and I’m trying to fit two D class power cells on it. Perhaps the addition of a wooden board or leather straps with buckles? It’d give it a kind of steam punk look. Not incredibly opposed to that.
The trigger system and power cell structure is kind of up in the air for the main rifle. There are several ways I could do them but I’m not sure which to use. Do I want to mount the cells externally for easy access? I could build in a removable panel for cell exchange but then I have to worry about stability. As for the trigger I could use the one that came with the chassis or I could build my own using large comical switches from Active Surplus or perhaps a bike handle/brake. I always wanted to make a full-leaver trigger. We will see as time progresses.
