Hello! My name is Stephanie and I run a very tiny sewing company called Lavender Spikes. Last week I made this lolita outfit for myself...only to try it on yesterday and realize it doesn't fit me so it's up for sale D:
Bust: Free
Waist: 28-30"
Pieces Included: Skirt, top, obi, bow, headdress
Fabric: This piece is all cotton
Construction: This is all original design!
-skirt: Lined, with the bottom layer having eyelet flounces down the back that are revealed by the gathered upper layer. It has a zipper closure and is 24" long.
-top: Lined bodice, with sewn-in ruffle and doubled neckband. The sleeves are unlined and quite long. The armpit is open, like in a real kimono, for looks and for ease of movement, though it's not very noticeable at all.
-obi: This is 8" wide, and is really a very pastille plaid, though it doesn't look it much from the pictures. It has interfacing and is quite stiff, and connects with three snaps.
-obi bow: This snaps onto the obi and is fairly large. It can be worn in the back, but for the pictures I put it to the side so as to show off the flounces more, though I find it very charming in that place and would recommend it.
-headdress: It has a pink back (the same fabric as the skirt) but the top is the plaid, with an eyelet lace overlay, the same lace used in the ruffles on the back of the skirt. The bows are hand-sewn on and silk ribbon.
Price: I would like to get $140 for this, as it has never been worn and is all lined, but I am willing to bargain, so if you don't have that much, pm me and maybe we can work something out!
Status: Never worn, as it does not fit me.
Notes: This is really a beautiful outfit that will fit a wide range of sizes. I made it for myself but early on in the sewing the dress form's measurements got switched and...well...it isn't my size now, so it's up for sale instead. The skirt can be used for other outfits, as well as this ensemble. The fabric is quite light and would be comfortable for summer wear.
Inspiration: This is really what I feel to be an English interpretation of a Japanese kimono, rather than the usual wa-lolita, which is a Japanese interpretation of an English Fashion. Or maybe it's the other way...? Either way, this is quite different. My favorite view of it is the side, which I feel is a very English profile, with the bustle back and chest out forward. Yet at the same time I put in traditional touches like the sleeves being unattached at the bottom and keeping the collar white. I really wish that I could wear this, but alas...I hope whoever buys it will enjoy it greatly!
