At Otakon 2006, I won Best Overall Craftsman (masq).
The top is a yellow cotton knit.
The trim on the top is bias tape as well as the black on the dangly-front-flap-thingy. The petal collar is made from white cotton fabric with bias tape on the edges. The cross is bias tape with wire inside, sewn to the petal collar. The petal collar was then attached with snaps. (The petal collar covers the front zipper! Rock on!)
The back..... craziness. The keyhole is cut out, but I have nude fabric ocvering the holes. It is edged with bias tape. The back petals are fabric painted.
The arm warmers are made with the same yellow knit. I painted the tips orange. The fishnet was originally white so I painted part of it yellow and blended to a color close to my skin tone.
The skirt was made with off white trigger with black bias tape sewn for the stripes. There is a zipper on the back of the skirt. The lace is also sewn to the skirt.
The shoes are a size 8. I bought them at the thrift store. I covered them with the fabric and then painted the bottom.
The wig. The gold hair decorations are made from model magic. I painted them gold and dry brushed black on, then immediately removing the black so that it looked tarnished. The flowers are faux Easter lilies. I painted them yellow and added touches of orange. The feathers were originally white and I dyed them yellow.
It has been worn a few times.
