What got you into cosplay?
Meeting new friends with the same interests and its fun acting a character you like, and that you are able to make your own personal costume!
I don't want to be better than other people, I just want to make my own personal costumes, not just costumes, but a piece of art!
What was your first costume and why?
Nanoha Takamachi from Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha.
A friend of me said me that I really looks like Nanoha and asked me to cosplay her.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
A LOT! I don't even know where to start!
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
I was walking with a large group of cosplayers in the centre of a city to the convention in my Nanoha costume with my big-ass Raising Heart.
There where a lot of people there like: WTF!?
Also a little girl, I think she was 4 or something and was looking up and staring at Raising Heart and was like: WOW 0.o! and almost felt xD LOL It was almost a Mama-Nanoha/ Vivio moment =3
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yes, I got a little professional acting experience and know how to made theatrical acts (and how not) and always got a lots of compliments for my performances.
What was your best masquerade experience?
A really funny one! For the prelims for the ECG and WCS '11 I did a FMA act together with my cosplay partner and during the skit my partner appeared as Al and the audience was screaming like crazy. I was standing behind the gate with my mouth wide open because I didn't saw that coming. During the skit his loincloth sagged down, the audience started laughing and when I saw it happen I was like: Holy sh**! and when I was behind the gate again I prayed to God: PLEASE DON'T LET HIM FALL!!
There was also no option to pull it up very quickly so we continued the skit like nothing happened.
It was really hard for me not to laugh during the skit. So the good laugh came afterwards, after the skit. I and my partner laughed for hours and when we just stopped laughing the Event Manager came to us and said: Hey, that was pretty good right? And I and my partner started laughing again xD
The day after we heard we had won the ECG and WCS prelims and I was really like WTF so many shit happened during the skit and we won??!!!
I will NEVER forget this! xD
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Yes I did, but that's not important for me.
If people are saying that I have done a great work on my costume, than I am already happy and got enough
motivation to work on the next costume =3
Tell us a little about yourself
I am a student Media Art and Design. That means I have to build and design the set for on stage, design costumes and doing the make-up and wigs for artists in the theatre, musicals, TV-shows etc.
I like theatre and musicals and go to a theatreschool,
I hope to become a professional.
My hobby's are: acting, singing, painting and of course creating weird stuff like cosplay xD
I did never made costumes before, I learned sewing al by myself, many people say that I have ultra creative hands and that I can create things without thinking about it. I love to try to make more difficult stuff and that I will become better after each project!
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
People are asking me for some tips for making costumes and props, but the best ingredients for making cosplay I can give are:
Motivation, Dedication, Improvisation, Ambition, Patient and Creative talent.
Also having respect for the creator of the character/costume will also help ^^
Don't make a costume because you want to be the best, make it on the way YOU want and stay close to yourself!
And have fun in what you are making!
