What got you into cosplay?
Simply watching the ANBU blackops on Naruto. I didn't really expect into evolve into the kind of excitable little kid, that leaps at any opportunity to hit the next convention. It really just started because I loved ANBU and I wanted to make one of their masks.
What was your first costume and why?
As I said before, it was Naruto's ANBU blackops that got me to work on my first cosplay piece.
After weeks of trial and error, my brother, and I, finally came up with a mask that weeks before, would have proven more impressive then our greatest expectation.
When the mask finally turned out, we set off to work on our first cosplay... My ANBU costume. It was a good time for it to happen too. At the time I had a job waiting tables, meaning I had cash on hand almost everyday. So, we started brainstorming, trying to figure the best way to get the costume finished without losing all my cash on sub-par costuming, and wasted supplies. We fiddled around for a few weeks without getting too much accomplished. But, when my brother heard about Colossal Con 6, and decided we should go, we decided to get our act together, and just go for it.
Once it was decided that we were going , we had barely over a month to finish the costume. We managed to push our way through some bad information, and failed experiments and get the costume nearly finished, when a horrible realization occurred... My brother had no costume! It was an obvious fact, that with all the work he put into my costume, we could NOT go if he didn't have a costume as well. So within the last few days we had, a Jiraiya cosplay blossomed from his skilled hands. I finished my costume the day before we left. He finished his, in our hotel room, at the convention. After getting dressed, and briefly chattering about the quality of our work, we went downstairs to see our first convention. We had our doubts about whether, or not, we'd finish our projects in time. But, It turned out beautifully, with a river of compliments coming our way. ^_^
What is your favorite costume and why?
My Konoha ANBU costume, because it's the only one I've finished so far. (And it was/is my first) XD
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Halloween town Sora. From KH1 with the Pumpkin Head keyblade.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Probably getting my right hand cut open by a Kikyo cosplayer's arrow. For some reason she just shot an arrow down the hallway of the hotel. I have a little scar on my right hand -_-
Do you participate in masquerades?
Not yet.
What was your best masquerade experience?
The bears.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Nope.
Tell us a little about yourself
Yeah, I was homeschooled from 2nd grade on. (graduated at age 16) I carried a job for 8 months when I was 16. (I quit, I wasn't fired) I haven't gotten motivated to find another job since then, so my cosplaying has been very slow. I'm hoping to go to college this fall, or next spring. I plan to take Japanese classes so I can learn to speak it properly, along with a Japanese history class. I wish there was more for me there, but, since it's just a community college I can't expect a lot of great electives. I'm currently taking Manga class, and trying to get my foot through the door, learning Japanese. My hobbies include, playing guitar, blowing glass, playing video games, and drawing Manga. I'm a Super smash bros. casual elitist, So far I've met one person who could match my skill, and it wasn't at the video game convention I attended. I floored everyone I played for total of two days, without losing a single match. I was recently given the nickname "Bucket" due to an argument at the glass studio I work in. (It's kind of a long story) I didn't like it at first, but, it's grown on me. So, Bucket it is!
My favorite color is green, I don't have a girlfriend, I share a room with a brother, my hair is blue, I have big ears, and I'm the famous inventor of the Jalapeno-cheddar Muffin.
