What got you into cosplay?
What got me into cosplay was seeing all sorts of extravagant costumes people would were to conventions. I was so inspired.
What was your first costume and why?
Aoyagi Ritusuka from Loveless. I had just recently seen the anime and read all of the available manga. I remember how much I looked in a thrift store for all the pieces to his costume.
What is your favorite costume and why?
My favorite would have to be my Songstress Yuna costume, debuting at Nekocon 2007. I had one heck of a time sewing the layers of her gray skirt. O_o and the ruffles! xD
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Oh, I have so many! I am currently working on Oichi from Sengoku Musou 2. But my next big project is Sun Ce from Shin Sangoku Musou 4. I will also be making Zhou Yu for a friend of mine.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
I think it would be the karaoke I preformed at Nekocon 2007. I sang Real Emotion, somewhat like the opening of Final Fantasy X-2. I think it was rather predictable, but I enjoyed it anyway. It gave me so much more confidence in myself.
Do you participate in masquerades?
I don't. However, it's only because I have no idea where to go to, and I tend to get really excited at conventions, and lose track of time... ^^;
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
No, but only because I have been too shy to enter my work. I am a little afraid of losing, fearing my ego will be crushed! xD But this time, with Oichi and Sun Ce, I will enter my work in and hope for the best!
Tell us a little about yourself
My biggest hobby is sewing. I love it so much. I don't attend school, having graduated from high school in 2005. I am looking for work now; I lost my job a few months ago. I have one hell of a family, who I love dearly. I really get a rush making stuff for my friends. It makes me feel somewhat important and gives me something to do.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
Err... I like pocky? :D Oh! And I want to one day collect ball joint dolls! (But a job must come first... >.>) I am also a fan fiction writer!
