What got you into cosplay?
I was constantly nagged by a friend about cosplaying. He was the first one to introduce it to me during college but I didn't cosplay until I graduate and got a job. I took fancy of it especially when I got to see more people at school doing it.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was Sohee from Ragnarok Online for the First Ragnarok World Championship on June 22, 2004 held at the Folk Arts Theater CCP Complex, Philippines. I was an avid RO gamer, and since it was my first time, I chose the easiest costume to make while being a favorite character as well. At that time, I was leveling up in Payon Cave where the Sohee resides. So there! :)
What is your favorite costume and why?
I have two favorite costumes. One is the Super Novice Guardian Angel costume. It was very challenging making the costume and putting things together. My Aunt helped me with the sewing. I made mostly the accessories and the beadworks. I love my wings and staff! They are killers. Although I didn't make any of those because I lack the tools and skills.
The other favorite costume is the Sailor Mars costume from the PGSM series. Why? Because everybody loves sailor fukuus!!
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Yes I have quite a list XD There is a mermaid, a vampire, a fairy, an angel, a warrior, a goddess, an Otherkin, and all of the characters in Sailor Moon that I could possibly cosplay!! wee ~
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
My most memorable cosplay experience was during the TOEInty Anniversary in 2006. We joined the competition as Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon cosplayers. I was Sailor Mars and we did a skit depicting the main story of the series and a little dance number at the end. It was by far, the best, and most exciting cosplay I did.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
I have won some awards for my costumes. The first one would be "Best in Craftsmanship Award" for my Alchemist costume during the U Got Game: Juno Launch on the 18th of September 2004. Also, I got into semi-finalists and finalist roster list during the National Cosplay Competition in 2006 as Sailor Mars from the PGSM Series.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I love COSPLAY and everything about it -whether I am the one wearing the costume, or making the costume, or taking pictures or simply being an audience and intoxicate myself with the glamor, craftsmanship, and drama of cosplay. Most of my cosplay plans are unpredictable for I have a knack of joining a cosplay group spur of the moment. But of course, I do have some characters I have set my heart on, and hoping that I could cosplay them someday :3
