What got you into cosplay?
I've always been jealous of how Halloween was celebrated in the USA, but not Australia, and then I went to my first Anime/Pop Culture Convention in 2003 and saw all these people walking around in costume. I was totally inspired, but it wasn't until recently that I built up the courage and self confidence to actually go out and cosplay.
What was your first costume and why?
Nabooru from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Full of Cosplay FAIL as I did not look Gerudo-ish at all without a fake tan. Chose her mainly because I liked her attitude in the game and thought it'd be cool to cosplay her.
What is your favorite costume and why?
I like my Riku cosplay at the moment. It was easy to make, comfortable, and nice and simple. I'm sure that will change in the future though.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I'd love to cosplay Yue (wings included) from Cardcaptor Sakura.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
I'd say been screamed at while on stage and asked to "Take it off!" was a rather memorable experience on my part.
Do you participate in masquerades?
As in cosplay competitions? If that's read right, than yes I do. Mainly the walk on's though. I've never participated in a skit before, although I plan to in the future.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Hmm, well I guess I rather liked my first experience with my Nabooru cosplay. It was just going up on stage, posing, and tramping off, which really is no big deal, but I was nervous as hell. ^_^
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
No, but I don't mind. Cosplay is for fun after all~
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a Uni student studying Japanese Language. I want to be a translator/interpreter at the end of it all.
