What got you into cosplay?
Early acting in school productions, the wardrobe and props were calling, and still a fan of improvs and full productions.
What was your first costume and why?
Other than Halloween or hired productions, Riff Raff (butler) at local "Rocky Horror Picture Show" midnight showings, where on any given Friday night it was normal to dress up. I also used it at local SciFi cons a few times.
What is your favorite costume and why?
I'll need to recreate lost elements, but the Fifth Doctor from "Doctor Who", which, after an appearance with the Tenth Doctor in late '07, can be thought of as "current" again. It's become a moral imperative, since as the Tenth Doctor pointed out, "Not many men can pull off a decorative vegetable." As an extra bonus, being older and out of shape is apparently a time-collision glitch now! ^_^
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
It's a guarded secret. I promise: no Jar Jar. Stay Tuned. ^_^
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Halloween '05, I believe, where I surprised convention friends at a party as Hikaru from "Hikaru no Go" before it was released locally. Clean shaven, no glasses, hair half stage-dyed, the "5" clothing, Go board and pieces... the works. A friend who knows some other classics we both like insisted I must have been cosplaying an off-duty Ryu from "Gatchaman" in civilian clothes, since he's pilot #5. Added a new "obscure" costume, I guess. ^_^
Do you participate in masquerades?
One appearance so far at a "formal wear or dressed-up cosplay only" Masquerade Ball.
What was your best masquerade experience?
If I post about it, it'll ruin the surprise of making it better the next time I set it up. I have a cunning plan. :p
