What got you into cosplay?
The idea that I could still wear a costume and be taken seriously. That, and the absolutely vibrant energy emanating from cosplayers at various conventions...I felt like I was missing something.
What was your first costume and why?
General Beatrix from Final Fanatsy 9...My hair was pretty close to hers (since I've always considered hair the most daunting of cosplay tasks), and I thought she was gorgeous.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Baiken, from Guilty Gear XX. She's strong, she's sexy, she's feminine even though she could kick your @$$ from here to next Tuesday. The costume was flattering to my less-than-trim figure, as well.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
I have many. Maybe one day I'll decide on one.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
A five year-old boy recognized my Tsukiyono Omi (Weiss Kreuz) costume at YaoiCon 2003. *Why* a five year-old boy was at YaoiCon, I have no idea.
Do you participate in masquerades?
Not yet. Maybe someday, when I slim down a little ^_^;;;
Tell us a little about yourself
I'm a senior in college, but only after taking several years off to work after high school. I'm a shameless yaoi fangirl, but I love and appreciate ALL genres of anime, from yuri hentai to giant robots. My family doesn't understand the obsession one little bit. I'm also a fanfiction author and fanartist, and hope to move into original work to publish one day.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
To new cosplayers starting out: You don't need to be perfect! You don't need to absolutely *look* the part! Just do your best, have fun, and be super-proud of the work you've done, and you'll look outstanding!
