^___^ I grew up all over the place hehehe...
I've grew up 7 years in kenya, a few years in the philippines, a year in japan and some here in america. ^_^
I've been to many countries but only for vacations and stop overs.

What got you into cosplay?
I always see it as an honor and a priveledge to go cosplaying as anime characters. Back when I was in kobe, at age 13, I was able to witness an open convention for cosplayers. It was 1998 then. I was really interested in those who were cosplaying that time... too bad I didnt have a camera back then. I told myself, someday I want to be like them. I was really into anime back then and I still am. I admire the art and am willing to cosplay anytime. I admire the people who are willing enought to put themselves in these costumes. I really want to collect a lot of photos/videos of myself along with other cosplayers. In all the only 3 cosplay conventions I have ever attended, with all those cosplayers, I felt like I was at home.
What was your first costume and why?
My first costume was that of rurouni kenshin ^_^. I knew how to wield a sword although I only took a few classes, so I was able to exhibit some of the few techniques I could perform. Back then I had a red wig which I bought at a wig shop and the owner kept bugging me why I need one. ^_^ I simply smiled and said, "I want to dress up as kenshin." The owner was familiar with the anime. A lot of people said it really fit me... too bad I have no pictures to share yet. ^__^
What is your favorite costume and why?
I have so many favorites that I havent tried... and I really cant tell which one I'd pick. Perhaps it would be that of dante from devil may cry. Its very difficult to find a costume like that... or maybe that of sanosuke sagara... Or perhaps that of Ichigo when he was in his partial hollow form while he was fighting with byakuya. Today is may9th right? My hair is still too short for cosplay but I'm sure I'll fit in good wigs. But I would really like to cosplay as sanosuke sagara! ^_^ I just wish I'd have a good wig for that. As of now, I can only cosplay as short haired characters like Lupin, Koichi Zenigata and sakuragi from SlamDunk hehehe... I wish my hair grows back a lot faster. I just had a stem cell transplant last january 2008. I had to get one since I was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia last February 15 2007 (darn right after valentines that year). I'd really like to cosplay as Captain Sagara from the Sekihoutai, which was Sanosuke's old band of warriors back when he was a child (from Rurouni Kenshin). ^_^
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
^_^ hmmm.... still thinking about it... I'm not good at making costumes... Most of the times, I make use of what I can avail of. Sometimes I even have to buy my costumes. It gets a lot out of the pocket but again, its a priveledge. I really wish I could keep photos of myself with other cosplayers for myself. Thats what really drives me to do cosplay.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
So far, the only cosplay I've done was as rurouni kenshin. ;^_^ BUT Indeed it was memorable since I would copy his goofy expressions and make everyone want to squeeze my cheeks. oro? ^_^ hehehe It was very memorable too since lots of people said it was perfect for me... Somehow I feel like doing a sanosuke cosplay is more fitting to me since I am 5 foot 11 inches tall now. ^_^ But back then I was just the right height for cosplaying as kenshin. It was early 2004 back then. ^_^ There were only a few of us who attended (around 30) but all of us were in complete attire and most of us really fit in our costumes really well. I won first place but I really believed that others were better than me. It was my swordplay that gave me the advantage. Since I wasnt allowed to wield a flaming sword ;^_^.... I attached a short blue handkerchief like a flag near the center of the sword I was wielding and started waving it around while rolling on the ground and jumping in the air. ;^_^ I had to put a serious yet tame look on my face until the last part where I had to shout and stomp my left foot on the ground. ^___^ Lots of people were clapping that time... i felt a bit shy after the presentation. Lots of people took plenty of pictures with me but no one gave me a single picture. ehehehe.... ;^_^ its ok... But I still really wished I had a camera back then.
Do you participate in masquerades?
SURE!!! Please bring me there! but ehehehe... but what kind? If its an anime cosplay i'd surely go for it. oh yeah. If its a formal one, fine! But I dont know how to do formal dances. =(

Have you won any awards for your costumes?
yep... It was like 5000 pesos... I think that would be like 100 dollars here in the us... that money though flew away like a tissue paper since I spent it on food and school supplies. huhuhu (cries)
Tell us a little about yourself
Hello Everyone. My name is John Michael. I am a 21 year old Masscommunications student. Eversince I was a child I wanted to be an actor but not just any actor... I wanted to be like jackie chan or jet li. It was always my dream to become an action star like them. And because of that I started studying their films and tried my best to do their moves. I have also started learning aikido and wushu. I wish to enhance my skills in both since I had to stop due to my illness.. Yes... I had leukemia. Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia to be exact. It was very diffcult... I felt like I was going to die anytime. I was finally taken in the hospital for chemo and spinal injections along with those other times I had neutropenic fevers since it was considered an emergency. I just had my stem cell (autologous) transplant so I feel a lot stronger than I did before. I really dont want to go through the same thing again so I have to do my best to keep healthy. I like anime a lot. The first few animes I watched back then were dragon ball z and rurouni kenshin. ^_^ Rurouni kenshin is my favorite anime. I also like Inuyasha, Death-Note, Naruto, xxxholic, Tsubasa Chronicles, Busou Renkin, Bleach, Blood Plus, Hellsing, Devil May cry and many more. I like traveling... Most of all, I really like drawing manga and movie making. I am interested in those fields really. I appreciate music a lot. From really cool music to rock. I really have a lot of those songs in my head... so much so that I start writing songs of my own. My favorite band is Nightmare...its a really beautiful J-rock band. Most of their songs are my favorites! ^_^ Mr.Children's Houki Boshi and Emy Fujita's Hidamari no Uta... I really love those songs too. Plus Side A band's song entitled Forevermore. ^_^ Thats a really sweet song! I am single but I dont plan on staying single forever hehehe... perhaps when i reach 27 or 30 hahaha... I'm still looking for a job. As of the moment I draw and paint a lot and sometimes sell or give them away. Anime has always been my passion. Indeed, anime cosplays would be my field of joy and ride away from all my worries. I am a virgo and apparently I am a virgo hehehe... I like art a lot... I do very well in school. I know martial arts... Plenty of aikido and some wushu and a little bit of iaido. I really want to progress in every martial arts I can extend to learning. I can speak a little japanese and very little korean, english, filipino tagalog and filipino
