About Me / Q&A

What got you into cosplay?
I wanted to attend Otakon and felt like if I didn't cosplay I would be out of place. I was WRONG, but cosplaying Sasuke for Otakon 2006 definitely awoken a side of me that I didn't think I had. Cosplaying has allowed me to meet new people, including my lovely girlfriend, and express myself in ways I never though I could.
What was your first costume and why?
Sasuke Uchiha, because at the time I thought Naruto was the greatest show ever made. I have since moved on, as you may be able to tell.
What is your favorite costume and why?
David Rabb, simply because it is very comfy, and it is so successful. Hardly anybody recognizes it, but when they do they freak out beyond belief. Also, I have a japanese "the big SATURN" card and it just adds that much more to the costume.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Ivan Ooze is definitely my number 1 cosplay that I want to do. I actually know how to make most of his costume and make it look GOOD. The only difficulty is going to be actually CONSTRUCTING said costume, and making the latex mask for good old "Mr. Raisinhead." I also want to make The Doctor from the Assassin's Creed Brotherhood multiplayer. Such an amazing costume, and it would be so versatile when attending conventions and places like Renn Faires.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
When I cosplayed Arkana at Otakon 2009 it was definitely memorable. People were just outright SHOCKED that someone actually cosplayed him, and by the comments I was getting all weekend I did a pretty good job. My group and I got stopped for hundreds of pictures to a point where a staff member actually stepped in so we could take a break. Definitely AWESOME.
Do you participate in masquerades?
At Tigercon 2009 I dressed as Duke Devlin and did a skit to "Jizz in my Pants" by The Lonely Island. I had a Bakura cosplayer (Fisk here on Cosplay.com), a Dark Magician Girl, and a Magician's Valkyria. It was simply AMAZING. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aqdNwKbxM-g <-- That is the skit.
What was your best masquerade experience?
Because of that wonderful skit that I showed you in the above question, we won the Grand Prize. It was the first time any of us had done a skit. Granted it wasn't in front of a large crowd like Otakon, but it was still a blast to do.
Tell us a little about yourself
I attend Towson University and wish to become an Art Teacher.
My favorite anime
My Favorite anime at the moment would have to be either Yu-Gi-Oh!, Black Lagoon, or Gurren Lagann. Yu-Gi-Oh! is awesome, I mean come on.. holographic monsters and the fate of the world riding in the turn of a card? Yeah SWEET. Black Lagoon is just an awesome shoot-em-up show about "pirates" in a more modern time, and Gurren Lagann is.. well GURREN LAGANN. There is so much testosterone in that show it's unreal.
My favorite book(s)
The Scott Pilgrim series. It is pure genius and I honestly didn't have a moment in the series that I disliked.
My favorite character(s)
I LOVE Arkana (Yu-Gi-Oh!), and David Rabb (Yu-Gi-Oh! GX). I'm not sure why, but Minor Characters are AWESOME to cosplay. Non-anime/manga wise, I simply ADORE Agent Smith from the Matrix Trilogy. He is the iconic evil and definitely sends shivers of awesomeness down my spine every time I see him.
My favorite movies(s)
Scott Pilgrim vs The World and Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Movie are probably two movies that I could watch non-stop. They are awesome.
My favorite actors/actresses
Hugo Weaving. That man is magic, and Agent Smith is why. Such an evil presence, however... extremely composed up until the final fight. Also, Alan Rickman because Snape. Also because of his role in Galaxy Quest, because that movie is AMAZING beyond belief and he's freaking hysterical.
