What got you into cosplay?
Probably the first con I went to, AnimeNorth '99. I remember walking down the halls seeing people in so many awesome outfits and then running into a giant uber Mokona, which just happened to be from one of the series I followed at the time. I was hooked on this idea. Mind you it actually took a few years from that point to a)get the funds for it, and b) get the nerve to try it, but from the first con, it was bubbling in the back of my mind.
What was your first costume and why?
My fiirst costume was the White Mage from Final Fantasy I. I had dusted off the ol' NES, blew into the game cartriage a few times and gave the game a try after failing horribly when I was like... 5. And... I loved the game. White mage just became my favourite character because healers are the real winners of a time, especially when they bust out a Holy on a monsters evil behind.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Hm, well, I've done two. Favourite might as well be the White Mage one still, since it still has the biggest impact as the FIRST COSTUME EVAR.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Yes and No. I have many costumes I would love to make. Some of them are those really ornate CLAMP style costumes, that have the details comes out of the yinyang. Others I would love to try would be Midna's true form, though I lack the skill and the body type for that one.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
Mmmm.... probably the first time I cosplayed. I was just so happy I finally did, so I was floating on air most of the time.... when I wasn't tripping on my cloak. XD;
Do you participate in masquerades?
Yep. Three. When I create the ultimate costume experiance I will.
What was your best masquerade experience?
... I guess when we did a like rendition of 8-bit Theatre/FInal Fantasy I skit thing. The crowd reaction was fairly positive.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
Sure. Identify my sore spot. No, I haven't, but my GODS I want to, so very badly. It's one of my dreams.....
Tell us a little about yourself
I have a degree in Biology. I work in a Pet Store. My hobbies include overflowing my bookshelf with books, having my floor a disaster area at any given time with either craft supplies, Wii games, or misc. objects I don't remember having.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I am currently craving cookies.
My favorite anime
Sailormoon (both original and Live Action), Magic Knight Rayearth, Escaflowne, Tsuabasa Chronicles, Chrno Crusade, a good chunk of Miyazaki, more CLAMP stuff, Rurouni Kenshin etc etc.
My favorite game(s)
Legend of Zelda et al., Seiken Densetsu 3, Okami, Guiter Hero and DDR. Among other stuff.
