What got you into cosplay?
I've always loved costumes. Growing up near New Orleans, I always had two costumes a year, one for Halloween and one for Mardi Gras. Then I got into larping and renfaires and cons. There was no way I couldn't have fallen into cosplay eventually!
What was your first costume and why?
"Ghetto" Vincent Valentine. First con I ever went to, I didn't really know I could go until the day before the con. Made Ghetto Vincent the friday morning of the con nearly entirely out of cardboard and duct tape. And it still looked good... from a distance anyway.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Right now it's a toss between my Saber and Deedlit costumes. I'm proud of Saber's wig and Deed's armor (if only it weren't so heavy).
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
The Animania larps at A-kon. Hands down. Attended my first one on a whim and haven't looked back. It's such a blast. You tend to get a lot more attached to the character if you actually play them above just wearing their outfits all day.
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
I've been awarded best female costume in the Animania larp at A-kon for each costume I've worn there.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I don't really have very many good pictures of a lot of my costumes since I tend to finish them up in the hotel room at the con. XD So unfortunately most of my photos are of me roaming convention floors and often looking quite tired (due to lack of sleep while working on said costume) and some are just bad photos (due to having a crappy camera at the time >_<). Eventually I hope to get ahead of the game and finish one before the con and actually do a photo shoot while it's still all pristine.
