For me, cosplay isn't about pretending; it's about magnifying. It's about pulling bits of your own persona into view by analyzing bits of personal nostalgia from public mythologies, and adding a little bit back to the original. Stories are not static, and they evolve with you.

By the taking the time to create and interact in fantasy worlds, you can actually gain insight into real life. You may even start to realize your true nature by confronting the elements you discover within the characters you choose to portray. This is pure visual object language in action.

If we can help solidify the imaginary itself, imagine what else we could do...

Create, respect and rock on.

What got you into cosplay?
A prophesy.
What is your favorite costume and why?
I guess...I shall say...Nightmare...? Because I would be harassed if I don't choose him.
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Um...I keep ending up -making- my dream costumes. My dream is actually just to finish all the projects I've started. ^_^; Still to tackle in the foreseeable future is Vincent ( and all of his guns ) & Lloyd's full armor! In general, I can always be seduced into *lots* more SaGa and Soul Calibur costumes, because I love those games.
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
I think the most worthwhile experiences involved cosplaying for Psycho le Cemu at each their concerts over here - because they were actually surprised, very receptive and genuinely appreciative.
Do you participate in masquerades?
...Only under coercion - and even then, I have to be juried in &/or have a significant message to warrant a skit. ^_^; Otherwise, I'd much rather use my con time exploring cool places for photo-shoots because an award doesn't mean as much to me personally than a nice photo does. To be honest, though, I've very rather enjoyed being a judge &/or greenroom staff, and even though it is hectic and stressful, I'd much rather contribute to the masq in that fashion by helping others.
What was your best masquerade experience?
As a judge, I've *highly* enjoyed every Youmacon, and look forward to it every year. As a participant...well, Archon is still hands-down the most amazing, professional and comfortable masquerade experience you could imagine. Actually, it's beyond what you can imagine. They give you personal minions before, hot food during and a full-scale party afterwards. (Anime cons still have much to learn from decades-old sci-fi cons.)
Have you won any awards for your costumes?
A few. Mostly in the "Best Most Creative Craziest Use of Materials" category. I have no idea what class I'm in, though. It's kinda arbitrary.
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
When I grow up, I intend to be a giant robot.
My favorite anime
Not into much these days except Berserk & 12 Kingdoms. Saiyuki, Fruits Basket, Cowboy Bebop & Wolf's Rain are still up there though. Unless we're counting non-Japanese shows, in which case: Gargoyles, ReBoot, Avatar, Transformers (G1 + Beast Machines + Animated)...um & Storm Hawks ^_^;
My favorite game(s)
Vagrant Story! Final Fantasy Tactics! Also...FF7, FF6, FF4, Grandia II, Star Ocean 2-3, Wild ARMs 1 & 3, Arc 4, Suikoden series, Xenogears, Legend of Dragoon, Tales of Destiny, Kartia, Genji, Chaos Legion, Myst, Castlevania series, Breath of Fire series, Mana series, SaGa Frontier & Romancing SaGa MS, most of the Zelda's...plus Crazy Taxi, Katamari, Guilty Gear X, the Soul Calibur series and Smash Bros. I'm in this cosplay mess today because of video games, if it isn't obvious! ( For the record, I rate Kingdom Hearts as a fairly blah series - I'm just all obsessed about it cuz of the Organization. XD )
My favorite book(s)
Neverwhere & Good Omens & the Discworld series
My favorite movies(s)
FF7AC, VHD Bloodlust, Hero, Mystery Men, the Adventures of Baron Munchausen...and MST3k's
