What got you into cosplay?
It seems unrelated, but Rennaissance Fair, actually. I really love dressing up and acting the part of a character, and until I found out about cosplaying and the Renn Fair, I had no idea that that was something that I could do. After Renn Fair came into play, I bugged my parents about letting me cosplay. They were really reluctant, so I just started making my first costume to prove that I had the drive to do it. I worked on it for over a year, and they finally caved, deciding that they wouldn't hear the end of it if they let this opportunity pass me by. =3
What was your first costume and why?
Heh, Twilight Princess Link, actually. I put a ton of work into it over, say, a year and a half as proof to my parents that I had the drive to go to Anime Expo. In the end, I must have done something right, because they decided that I could go.
What is your favorite costume and why?
Hmm, I only have one, and that's my Twilight Princess costume, but I have no doubt that that will be staying my favorite for awhile. I just put too much work into it not to be, and even if I were to start another project, there's no way it could have as much hard work put into it as that one. Besides, it was my first costume, and I kind of can't help but feel attached to it. XD
Do you have a dream costume you'd like to make?
Maybe one day I'll make a crazy good Kuja costume, but I think that that's pretty far into the future. Many of the dream costumes I want to do are of my own design, and though I have the blueprints on paper and in my head, I just don't have the talent or expertise to make them yet. But one day--I plan on it. ^__^ Where cosplay is concerned, I think my dream costume would be Inutaishou from the third Inuyasha movie, but that's an endeavor that will take awhile, and probably quite a bit of money, too! XD
What has been your most memorable cosplay experience?
AnimeExpo '08--walking around as TP Link was extraordinary. All around, I got people asking for pictures and for hugs, which I thought was pretty awesome. I think that the gathering was pretty cool, because we had a huge crowd that followed us when we were getting the pictures taken. But the most memorable thing, I think, was when my mom asked a Midna if she could get a picture of her with me. As soon as we struck a pose, we managed to attract a huge crowd of photographers, which was pretty freakin' awesome. XD
Do you participate in masquerades?
I'm hoping that I'll be participating some time this year, but I haven't yet.
Tell us a little about yourself
Actually, my bow and arrows aren't just for pictures. I like archery quite a bit, and although I'm no Robin Hood, I'm not terrible, either. =3 However, call me a nerd if you like, but I love to read and write, especially poetry. One of my biggest hobbies are just with crafting. I just can't help myself, but I love to design and create costumes. Maybe one day I'll even be good at it. XD
Is there anything else you'd like to add?
I may still be in high school, but I'm also taking college classes at the same time. With luck, I'll soon have my AA and I'll be graduating high school with an AA at that. After that, it's straight off to a four year university--no laziness for me!--although I'll only need to take two years of it to graduate. I plan to get a career in Game and Art Design, and my plans are for being a concept artist and to work with the team to crate stories for generations of gamers who love depth in their games. As of now, however, all of my classes at the community college I'm in are free--one of the many perks to the school I'm attending. ^__~
My favorite anime
Gee, it's hard to say. Due to preparation for the AX, I don't watch much Anime anymore. I started watching FullMetal Alchemist back when it was small and traveled through the series with my sister. One of my favorite series was Death Note, however, I read the manga before I watched the anime. (Man, they wrecked their translations. XD) However, the anime that first got me into anime was Record of Lodoss War. Although I don't watch it anymore, I'll always remember the days when I had time to. =3
My favorite game(s)
How could I say anything other than The Zelda games? Most of them are simply ingenious, and the others have still clambered over the others into my heart. My favorite two were Twilight Princess and Ocarina of Time. Other games I really enjoyed were Okami, Patapon, Folklore, and Assassin's Creed. Out of the Final Fantasy series, my favorites were Dirge of Cerberus, Crisis Core, VII, VIII, IX. The story in XII wasn't too bad, but I wasn't a huge fan of the modernized gameplay they used. =3
My favorite book(s)
Oh dear, don't get me started on this one.
